MOSCOW, March 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Regional cooperation is an optimal form to respond to various modern challenges amid global uncertainties, said a Russian analyst.
"The optimal form to deal with these challenges is regional cooperation," Fyodor Lukyanov, academic director of the think tank the Valdai Discussion Club, told Xinhua in a recent interview.
Currently, unpredictability is high and the only thing that can now be done is to minimize risks, according to him.
Despite all the uncertainties, Lukyanov however does not expect a global armed conflict in the foreseeable future.
Peace and development remain the eternal tasks, he said, adding preserving peace in many regions is now more of a priority.
