Liang Fan, trained in philosophy (in the western tradition), she has been doing interdisciplinary research and teaching, particularly in topics straddling ethics, economics, and environmental philosophy. Much of her recent scholarly attention is focused on questions relating to how ethically-informed economic theories may advance the goal of sustainable development. She currently serves as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the international division of the Social Sciences Academic Press, a publication unit of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
