GENEVA, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Nineteen were killed by outbreak of Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as of Sept. 15, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Tuesday.
A total of 46 EHF cases have been reported in the country, including 14 laboratory confirmed and 32 probable. Another 26 suspected cases have been reported and are being investigated, the WHO said.
It said that active epidemiological investigation is being done to identify all possible chains of transmission of the illness, and ensure that appropriate measures are immediately taken to interrupt the transmission, and stop the outbreak.
