MADRID, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Catalan Regional Government on Tuesday said the Catalan government (Generalitat) would ignore a decision by the Spanish Constitutional Court to temporarily suspend a public consultation over Catalan independence scheduled for Nov. 9.

The Spanish government last Friday appealed to the Constitutional Court to stop the consultation on the grounds it was unconstitutional.

By admitting the appeal, the Court automatically suspended all activity related to the consultation for five months while it takes a final decision on whether the vote falls within the scope of the Spanish Constitution.

However, in a press conference Tuesday held shortly after the Court's decision was announced, Catalan government spokesperson Francesc Homs said the Generalitat would press ahead with Sunday's vote.

"Everything is ready for Nov. 9. The Catalan government will continue with the process with all of its consequences," he said, adding the Generalitat would launch a counter-lawsuit against the Spanish government.

The Nov. 9 consultation was announced by the president of the Catalan regional government (Generalitat) Artur Mas soon after the Spanish court suspended all activity related to the Catalan Independence Referendum on Sept. 29.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the pro-independence movement launched their final TV advertisement in favor of the consultation featuring both Mas and Oriol Junqueras, the leader of the Republican Left (Ezquerra Republicana) Party.
