SARAJEVO, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Dragan Covic, Mladen Ivanic and Bakir Izetbegovic were elected new members of Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) with four years mandate given by voters on Oct. 12, said the Central Electoral Committee on Monday.
Izetbegovic is a Bosniak and candidate of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA). It will be his second mandate in BiH Presidency.
Covic, a Croat and President of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ BiH), was also again in Presidency where he had been in mandate period 2002-2005 when High Representative to BiH deposed him after the State Court had confirmed indictments against Covic.
Croatian and Bosniak members of Presidency are chosen from entity Federation of BiH (FBiH) while the Serb member is chosen from the entity Republika Srpska (RS).
Ivanic is a Serb and President of the Party for Democratic Progress (PDP).
All the three members are from center-right parties. BiH Presidency is responsible for foreign policy of the state and represents BiH in international and European institutions and organizations. Presidency is also civil chief to the Army.
