BERLIN, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- The following are major news items in leading German newspapers on Tuesday.

Die Welt:

-- In the fight against Ebola, German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen said that the German army will build together with the French army in the short term an airlift mission in the affected countries. According to von der Leyen, Germany considers building a hospital with 300 beds in the Liberian capital Monrovia.

Sueddeutsche Zeitung:

-- The terrorist militant group Islamic State (IS) called on their followers to murder citizens of all those countries that have committed to the fight against the organization, especially Americans and Europeans. Russian President Vladimir Putin is also considering to participate in the fight against the jihadists.

Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung:

-- French Prime Minister Manuel Valls has assured in Berlin that his country was ready to comprehensive reforms. He said in a talk with German Chancellor Angela Merkel that it is "absolutely necessary" that France strengthens its efforts to consolidate the budget. Merkel wishsed France "much success" in implementing its plans after the meeting with Valls.
