BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Current issues facing urban development will be discussed at the fourth Smart City of the Future international forum and exhibition in Moscow on Nov. 17−18.
Representatives of the city authorities, leading professionals from venture and innovation companies, and city management and urban economy experts will seek models of urban growth, interaction of the authorities, businesses and the public in city governance, and fostering of social and environmental responsibility.
The key objective of the forum is to assess the current state and the future of innovative urban development, said the organizer, the Rossiya Segodnya media group.
The two-day agenda of the Smart City of the Future forum comprises dozens of round-tables on energy efficiency in the housing and utilities sector, urban transportation, an inclusive urban environment, education of the future, nanotechnology for the urban economy, tourism and other current issues.
A plenary session -- Driving Development of Regions and Cities in the Face of New Challenges -- will focus on the influence of economic, political and environmental changes on regional and urban development, according to the organizer.
