STOCKHOLM, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- A white envelope delivered to the Swedish government offices here on Wednesday morning contained some white powder.
Police collected the envelope, which was sent off for analysis.
"Our initial assessment is that the powder is not dangerous," Stockholm police spokeswoman Towe Hagg told Swedish media. She added that the person who opened the envelope was frightened.
Police are treating the incident as unlawful threat but did not want to specify whether or not the letter was addressed to a particular individual or how much powder the envelope contained.
The incident follows a similar one on Monday, when the Swedish Enforcement Authority in Malmo, Sweden's third largest city, received an envelope with some suspicious white powder.
More than 10 employees had to be isolated and sections of the city were cordoned off. It later transpired that the powder was not dangerous, though it is not yet known what the envelope contained.
