PARIS, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- At least 11 people were killed in a shooting at the headquarters of French newspaper Charlie Hebdo Wednesday morning, French media reported.

Two or three men, heavily armed, attacked the headquarters of the newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris's 11th arrondissement, said France Info.

It was reported that at least six other people had been injured, including a police officer, in the attack.

French president Francois Hollande is on his way to the shooting scene, and an emergency cabinet meeting is to be held this afternoon at 14: 00 local time in Elysee.

Charlie Hebdo was fire-bombed in 2011, due to publishing a controversial series of cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed.
