BEIJING, Sept. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- New Zealand-Australian actor Manu Bennett was arrested for assault on Sunday in Texas.
Manu Bennett often plays villains on the screen, who antagonized Bilbo Baggins in "The Hobbit" trilogy and Oliver Queen in "Arrow".
Local police said the 45-year-old actor was taken into custody after allegedly "punching a 29-year-old male during a disturbance at a party".
Bennett was scheduled to attend the Alamo City Comic Con as a celebrity guest over the weekend. He was released just before 1 p.m. Sunday.
Bennett' publicist and lawyer did not immediately respond to this issue.
