BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Dickie Moore, one of Hollywood's earliest child stars, who appeared in the "Our Gang" comedies, died just days before his 90th birthday.
"We were hoping he would make it to his birthday, but it didn't happen that way," said Helaine Feldman, who works at Dick Moore & Associates, a public relations firm founded by the late actor.
At age 6, Dickie Moore starred in the first sound movie adaptation of "Oliver Twist." Moore appeared in more than 100 movies and shorts. Moore's most famous film exploit was planting a kiss on Shirley Temple in the 1942 film, "Miss Annie Rooney," when he was 16 and she was 14.
A public relations executive said, in his later years, Moore was married three times, most recently to fellow child star Jane Powell.
