English.news.cn   2015-05-20 15:00:59

BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhuanet) -- A public viewing for blues legend B.B. King will be held in Las Vegas on Friday before his return to Mississippi, King’s business manager said.

Fans will be able to pass by King’s open casket to pay their final respects at Palm Mortuary West in Las Vegas.

B.B. King passed away in his sleep at the age of 89. He was put in home hospice care due to complications arising from diabetes and dehydration in recent weeks.

He is to be laid to rest on the grounds of the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center in his hometown of Indianola, Mississippi.

Born on Sept. 16, 1925, he used to work as a sharecropper. After he broke through as a musician, it appeared King might never stop performing. He continued to perform well into his 80s even though diagnosed with diabetes.

Having touched so many people with his music, this Mississippi bluesman will always be remembered.
