BEIJING, Nov.18 (Xinhuanet) -- Famous British actor Anthony Hopkins will lead the cast of "Westworld", a remake series of Michael Crichton's 1973 sci-fi movie, according to media reports on Tuesday.
The movie "Westworld" has received an official series order from HBO, American widely-used cable and satellite television network company.
While Crichton's film explored a futuristic adult amusement park thrown into chaos after a robot malfunction, the HBO series is described as "a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin."
The sci-fi series will also star Ed Harris, Thandie Newton, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolso Berdal and Simon Quarterman.
HBO did not confirm how many episodes the show will include, or an exact air date.
