BERLIN, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Continuing the fashion craze set off by the fashion shows in Paris, the 15th Berlin Fashion Week kicked off here on Tuesday, showing designs for spring and summer 2015.
During the biannual fashion event, hosted by Mercedes-Benz, approximately 200,000 fashion enthusiasts, buyers and trade experts will collect information at fashion trade shows and attend exhibitions and off-site events.
Applying bold, fresh colors and designing that has a unique visual character on the men's clothing, the Swiss Design Award winner Julian Zigerli opened the fashion week with his namesake label on the runway.
Ivan Mandzukic, a German designer of high class menswear, presented his brand Ivanman mainly using bright blue and ivory white on stage.
Austrian female designer Lena Hoschek continued using retro color at this fashion week, but also added some African tropics character and style into her new Spring/Summer collection.
In contrast, Austrian designer Rebekka Ruetz showed her new collection in an urban chic and concise style by using flowing and soft materials.
Meanwhile, Berlin will again show its "green-fashion" side this season by putting up eco-shows to introduce the newest trends and discussing current questions revolving around ecological design.
Creative designers from around the world want to show that environmentally conscious textile production can also be cool, trendy and classy.
Over the next three days, famous local designers such as Anja Gockel and Guido Maria, as well as famous labels, such as Schumacher and Lala Berlin, will also present their new collections.
From Tuesday to Friday, totally over 100 collections for spring and summer 2015 will be presented in Berlin.
