BERLIN, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- During the Berlin Fahion Week, 135 labels are showing their eco-conscious collections including clothing, accessories, shoes and jewelry.
Using different winter colors combining the look with clean lined details, the salon "Green Showroom" showed selected collections from different designers on the second day of Berlin Fashion Week.
Even made with natural eco-friendly materials, the design is not inferior to other fashion brands, said Bernd Dressen, a designer who made fair produced shoes for more than 10 years.
Meanwhile, green fashion is gaining recognition in Germany, as Bernd Dressen told Xinhua: "Especially in these two years, I noticed in my shoe shop that customers who shop with eco consciousness are increasing."
A jewlery designer Christian Streit who presents his new collection in the showroom said that jewelry can also be made ecologically, because he used recycled silver and gold to make his jewelry.
This year, "Green Showroom" gathered 29 international designers sharing the same concept that luxury means label with contents and working methods with respect for the environment and nature, while focusing on design.
As highlight of the "Green Showroom", Dutch Eco Design Show also showed new collections of different sustainable Dutch clothing brands on Wednesday.
Simon Angel, a designer of Dutch Eco Design Show, said that he would only use natural harmless material under humane conditions for his brand and try to cut down on material waste by applying some design strategies.
Berlin Fashion School director Friederike von Wedel-Parlow said in a interview with local media that with the "Green Showroom" and other showrooms, Berlin Fashion Week is an important trading center because numerous labels active in the field will be showcased.
"We don't put emphasis on the material we use in our brand because for us eco-conscious fashion is anything but normal," said the designer Simon Angel.
During the Berlin Fashion Week, besides the traditional runway shows at the Brandenburg Gate, over 20 individual exhibitions with different profiles, numerous showrooms and many parties, organizations and media events are taking place on more than 50 places in Berlin from Tuesday to Friday.
