TIRANA, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- South Korean tenor Ji Sang Ryul Monday was acclaimed the winner of the Marie Kraja International Operatic Singers Festival in Albania's capital city of Tirana.
Named after Albania's renowned soprano, the event drew young opera singers from Europe, America, Asia and Australia to compete in the 13th festival held Tirana's National Opera and Ballet Theater.
Italian-American soprano Jessica Rose Cambio got the second place after the two-day competition, followed by Albanian soloist Enkelejda Kamani.
Spanish tenor Rodrigo Trosino was awarded with "San Prize" for his best interpretation of lyrical music.
The festival's jury, comprising renowned personalities of the Albanian and international opera, announced the results.
Established in 1999 soon after Marie Kraja passed away at the age of 88, the festival was initially held as a national competition, before becoming Albania's only internationally renowned event in the next few festivals.
