SARAJEVO, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- A film from Georgia, on Saturday won the Heart of Sarajevo award at the 19th Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF).
"In bloom," directed by Nana Ekvtimishvili and Simon Grob, told a story about two young girls in 1990s when Geogia was faced war and violence.
Lika Babluani and Mariam Bokeria, who played in film, were awarded best actresses. Bogdan Diklic won the award for the best actor for his role in "Stranger", a film which won the special jury award.
The SFF also announced awards for short film, documentary, human rights and special jury mention.
SFF director Mirsad Purivatra handed and honorary Heart of Sarajevo to Robert Olli, Executive Director of Eurimages, the council of Europe support fund for European cinema.
The SFF, which opened on Aug. 16, closed on Saturday after the awarding ceremony. The film festival began in 1995 and has grew up to be the largest and best-organized film gathering in the Balkan region.
