LONDON, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Art Everywhere event, which sees works of art replicated and displayed on advertising hoardings, attracts visitors from Britain and foreign countries to view.

The event runs until August 31 on advertising hoardings across Britain.

Leading artists Antony Gormley and Grayson Perry opened the event on Wednesday at Waterloo Station, one of the largest terminus stations in London.

Organizers chose Waterloo Station for the launch because it hosts the largest indoor advertising digital screen in the country.

Art works in the exhibition are voted for by the public, with the most popular going on show.

They include images of works by sculptor Henry Moore, poet and engraver William Blake, renaissance artist Hans Holbein the Younger, as well as works by living artists like David Hockney and works from Perry and Gormley.

Gormley said: "These are reproductions of real work and not for sale and they recognise that the real work exists and encourage people to visit them."

This is the second year that the Art Everywhere event has been held.
