BEIJING, May 9 (Xinhuanet) -- Beijing Design Week (BDW) will soon open its flagship store-- Design Mall-- on Tmall, the B2C platform under China's e-commerce giant Alibaba, to sell design products to customers online.
On May 5, the BDW, an annual international event, well-known for creative designs and ideas, signed a memorandum on cooperation with Tmall in Beijing, announcing that the Design Mall was launched as part of this year's BDW.
Starting from September, a large number of design products from home and abroad will be shelved on BDW's Design Mall and offline exhibition venues, featuring a practical design and an affordable price.
Customers can not only buy the design works of famous designers on the Design Mall, but also interact with designers to know the stories behind the designs and give their insights into the designs.
Also via the Design Mall, customers can buy customized designs and make appointments for the BDW's exhibitions and lectures.
BDW, a vanguard of China's design industry, was established in 2009. Every year, exhibitions, forums and other activities are organized across the city to promote creative exchanges with other international cities.
