CLAREMONT, United States, April 26 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibit named "Beautiful China" was held Saturday at the Pitzer College in Claremont, California, featuring China's beautiful scenery and harmonious relations between people and nature.
The event is part of a two-day international forum on ecological civilization co-sponsored by Xinhua News Agency Los Angeles Bureau and China National Tourist Office Los Angeles.
"We carefully chose over 80 photos on China's ecological tourism, most of which are either wonderful scenery or moments captured in the daily life of Chinese people," said Yanjie Wang, director of China National Tourist Office Los Angeles.
She told Xinhua that the show was aimed at giving experts and scholars attending the forum, local residents and students in Claremont a vivid impression about the beautiful scenery and various living conditions in China.
"I was amazed by different kinds of landscapes in the exhibition," said Jay McDaniel, an American philosopher and theologian. "I love images of ordinary life of people."
"It's the third year that I have been here to look at the photo exhibition presented by Xinhua Gallery. These are some of the most incredible photos I've ever seen, I keep returning to look at them," said Kyra Payne, a student of Claremont College. "They make me want to visit China!"
Anna Bedford, an attendant of the forum, lingered in front of a picture showing the natural view in southwest China's Yunnan Province and reminding her of her birthplace in Kunming, Yunnan's capital.
"I love China. I will be back," she said.
Claremont is a college town on the eastern border of Los Angeles County, California.
