BRISBANE, Australia, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Moscow's Bolshoi Ballet, one of the world's best known classical ballet companies will perform at the Queensland Performing Arts Center (QPAC) in Australia's Brisbane in May and June 2013, local media reported on Wednesday.
The company will bring two productions, Le Corsaire and The Bright Stream, shown for the first time in Australia.
"It covers not only two centuries of tradition but it also covers an extraordinary range of talent, from character dancers to the youngest and most brilliant ballerinas to emerge in Russia, in fact in the world, in the last few years," producer Leo Schofield told reporters in Brisbane.
"Anybody with the slightest interest in ballet and its history will be in Brisbane to see hopefully both of these shows," he said.
The Bolshoi Ballet, which was founded in 1776, last visited Australia in 1994.
QPAC expects 24,000 people to see the shows over the 12 sessions next year.
