SYDNEY, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- The world's largest annual free outdoor sculpture exhibition opened on Thursday at Sydney's Bondi Beach, showcasing 113 sculptures created by 77 Australian and 36 overseas artists, local media reported.
American artist Peter Lundberg's concrete and steel work Barrel Roll is among those on display.
Lundberg has been awarded the annual Balnaves Foundation Sculpture Prize of 70,000 AU dollars (72,590 U.S. dollars) this year for his work Barrel Roll.
"This is a tremendous honor. It's great just to be part of this exceptional exhibition," he said on receipt of the award.
Lundberg's sculpture will be placed in Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens when the exhibition is over.
