VIENNA, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- The eighth "Viennafair" was held under the title of "The New Contemporary" here from Thursday to Sunday.
"The New Contemporary acknowledges the fact that the old geo-political and cultural dichotomies ... no longer hold. Positive changes caused by economic forces are as likely to occur in Ljubljana as in London, St. Petersburg, and Paris," website of the fair explained.
A total of 122 exhibitors from 26 countries attended the international contemporary art fair.
The most important part of this year's event was the art exhibition of Central and Eastern Europe. In total, a number of 47 exhibitors from this region participated in the exhibition.
In addition, the Turkish contemporary art also grabbed attention in the exhibition.
Figures show that the number of new art forms generated over the past decade is even more than the past 100 years. Therefore, rapid development of the art market and art innovation became the focuses of this year's exhibition.
Viennafair is held not only for artists and collectors to exchange their views, but also for young artists to exhibit their new works.
