BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhuanet)-- PepsiCo Company announcedthe opening of its first Quaker Oats manufacturing facility in China lately, marking the continued expansion of the company’s nutrition business in a key international growth market.
Located in the Daxing District, southern Beijing, the new facility includes 30,000 square meters of production space and is equipped with advanced production lines that have the capacity to produce 50,000 tons of Quaker oats annually.
It will produce a variety of products, including Instant Oats, Quick Cooked Oats and Quaker’s Cereal Powder Drink (CPD).
The Quaker plant’s opening came less than two months after the successful launch of the Quaker High Fiber Oats Dairy Drink in China.
In the first two months of premiere online,the dairy product received over 240,000 consumer reviews, with 98 percent giving it top 5-star rating, according to the company.
To meet Chinese consumers' increased demand for a more balanced diet, especially for nutritious oats, the Beijing plant will gradually enhance its capacity for high-quality, tasty and healthy oat, the company said.
PepsiCo also announced that it will donate to the Schwarzman Scholars of Tsinghua's School of Economics and Management, designed to inspire the next generation of global economic leaders.
