BEIJING, Aug. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi requested her wax statue removed from an unknown wax museum in southwest China’s Sichuan Province because it's too ugly.

Zhang is not alone. Wax statues here of other stars from China and South Korea with "high level of appearance" are far from being recognized, including Kim Soo Hyun, who became famous worldwide through "My Love From The Star" and "The Producers".

A wax museum is usually popular for a genuine representation of celebrities and world-famous stars, such as Madame Tussaud's. But sometimes a wax museum became well-known overnight because of its horrendous sculpting work that made it a real laugh.

Netizens commented that some of the star wax figures are "too horrible to look at" as super stars Maggie Cheung and Go Li's figures are dressed "in rural style", while Stephen Chow's figure has a crazy hairstyle. Not to mention Zhang Ziyi's figure, whose hairline was made in such a way that "she" looks like a man in China's Qing Dynasty.

Figures of Jackie Chan, Andy Lau, and Jay Chou do not resemble their human counterparts at all, and are touted by Netizens as their "ugly twins".

Some celebrities have since demanded for the removal of the wax figures, including Zhang, who claimed that the museum hadn't asked for permission before doing so.
