BEIJING, July 20 (Xinhuanet) – “Chinese Muslims are relatively concentrated in northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, where architectures also bear a close resemblance to those in Arab countries, which makes me feel at home while staying here,” a legal adviser to the Federation of GCC Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FGCCC) said.
She said the FGCCC is eyeing stronger economic and trade cooperation with China by encouraging more local enterprises or individuals, especially those in tourism and food industries, to invest in the country.
In her view, the FGCCC and its Chinese counterparts should establish an initial deal to clarify the areas of bilateral cooperation and profits obtained therefrom, so as to lay a foundation for future development.
She also highlighted the efforts that Ningxia should make to promote China-Arab cooperation.
Ningxia, an important tourist destination in the Arab world, should be more innovative in policy-making and provide the most convenient services to enterprises investing in the region, she said.
She urged both sides to build more Arabic websites and set up branch offices of the federation in Ningxia for sound development of small and medium-sized enterprises and more cultural exchanges.
She believed the financial support from Islamic countries would help Ningxia achieve faster and better development. She also suggested granting awards to enterprises or individuals who have made contributions to the development of the region.
