BEIJING, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Qatar’s ambassador to China Sultan Al Mansouri said Ningxia has been serving as an important pivot of the Silk Road Economic Belt since ancient times, and pledged on behalf of Qatar to actively participate in China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
The ambassador made the remarks while addressing a group of students and faculty members at Forum of Ambassadors hosted by Ningxia University on June 6.
He also said China-Qatar relations would be strengthened by the agreement of strategic and cooperative partnership signed by both countries in 2014, and urged closer bilateral cooperation in the areas of finance, education and culture.
Initiated by Ningxia University in October 2014, the Forum of Arab Ambassadors has invited top diplomats to China from various Arab countries. The success of a series of activities plays an active role in the growth of the forum.
