DUSHANBE, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Tajikistan's lower chamber of parliament ratified on Wednesday an investment agreement signed between Tajikistan and Chinese cement manufacturer Huaxin on construction of two cement plants.

The agreement will bring more than 250 million U.S. dollars for construction of the plants, said Lochin Fayzulloev, first deputy chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management, at the parliamentary session.

With a combined production capacity of 2.2 million tons, the two plants will be built respectively in Bobojon Ghafurov district and Danghara Free Economic Zone, Fayzulloev said.

Also at the meeting, the country's lower chamber of parliament approved an agreement signed with Turkish Coca-Cola Icecek on construction of a soft drink bottling plant.

The agreement, inked last month, will bring an estimated direct investment of 50 million dollars to the Tajik economy and add 120 jobs once the plant is completed, Fayzulloev said.
