BEIJING, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks opened lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.50 percent, or 16.49 points, at 3,276.97.
The Shenzhen Component Index opened at 11,424.53, down 0.35 percent, or 40.61 points.
