Conference marking 65 years of China-Albania diplomatic ties held in Tirana

TIRANA, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- A conference marking the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Albania and China was held here on Thursday.

The conference entitled "65 years of Albania-China relations" were organized by the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in Albania.

Albanian Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati highlighted the friendship between the two countries and peoples, which is particularly unique, for it relies not only upon diplomatic and economic ties, but also on cultural, artistic, educational and sports relations.

For Albania, the European Union and China are two complementary aspects of each other, especially in the economic field, according to the Albanian foreign minister.

"In this context, the recent initiative of cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe have opened concrete prospective in the field of infrastructure, agriculture, tourism and culture," said Bushati.

Chinese Ambassador Ye Hao said that the tree of the friendship between Albania and China will always be green.

China has made many new friends, but will never forget the old friends, he added.

On the 65th anniversary of relations between Albania and China, the Albanian Post Office in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a postage stamp, with the view of the center of Tirana, which was taken by China's first satellite launched in the space.
