BEIJING, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- China and Chile should seize the time and formulate an inter-government common action plan to strengthen their cooperation, said President Xi Jinping on Wednesday.
Xi made the remarks when meeting with his Chilean counterpart Michelle Bachelet Jeria, who attended the 22nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting in Beijing and was on a working visit to China.
The two countries should put more efforts in cooperation in infrastructure, connectivity, clean energy, agriculture, financing and technology, Xi said.
The two countries should work together to make the 2015 Chinese Culture Year in Chile a success, Xi said.
Xi also called for joint efforts with Chile to promote the Asia-Pacific regional integration.
Bachelet said Chile hopes to promote mutual trade and investment and currency swap with China, and strengthen bilateral cooperation on Antarctic affairs.
She said Chile expects China's participation in the construction of a tunnel that connects the Pacific with the Atlantic.
