China condemns suicide bombing in Pakistan

BEIJING, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- China on Monday condemned the suicide bombing in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore that left at least 55 dead and 118 others injured.

"China is shocked by the incident," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said, voicing opposition to all forms of terrorism.

She extended condolences for the victims and sympathies to the their families and the injured.

"China will continue to support the Pakistani government and its people's unremitting effort to safeguard national security and stability," she said.

A man with explosives strapped to his jacket detonated the device on Sunday amid a crowd of over 200 people returning from a lowering of the flags ceremony and Rangers parade at the Wagah border crossing point in Lahore between Pakistan and India.
