BEIJING, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.87 percent to finish at 2,309.72 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.89 percent to close at 7,965.89 points.
