BEIJING, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Malaysian Supreme Head of State Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah will pay a state visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping between Sept. 3 and Sept. 8.
The following is a profile of the 87-year-old Malaysian leader.
Halim was born on Nov. 28, 1927. He obtained a bachelor's degree in social science and public administration at Wadham College of the Oxford University.
Halim became the 27th Sultan of Kedah in July 1958. He was the fifth supreme head of state of Malaysia from September 1970 to September 1975. He served as the 14th supreme head of state of Malaysia since December 2011.
His consort Hajah Haminah Binti Hamidun is the Raja Permaisuri Agong of Malaysia. They have three daughters.
