Burundi's president leaves for China visit

BUJUMBURA, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza on Thursday left for China in a six-day working visit where he is expected to meet Chinese authorities, the Burundian President's office said in a press release.

Nkurunziza will also meet Chinese entrepreneurs and Burundian students living in Nanjing, capital city of east China's Jiangsu Province, the release said. The president is also expected to attend the opening ceremony of the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games held from August 16 to 28 in Nanjing. It said that the Nanjing Sport Institute will award President Nkurunziza a Certificate of Honorary Professorship for his efforts in promoting collective sports.
