BEIJING, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday met with his Canadian counterpart John Baird, who is on a visit to China, Mongolia and Japan from July 23-30.
Wang said the two countries must promote bilateral trade and create favorable conditions for cooperation in finance, investment and agriculture.
Wang said China supports businesses in both countries to cooperate in oil and gas development, trade and pipeline construction in order to form a "long-term, stable partnership" in energy and resources.
Baird said the relationship with China is at the core of his country's diplomacy, especially its foreign policy in the Asia-Pacific. Canada is willing to cooperate with China more in energy, finance, investment and agriculture.
