President Xi appoints five new ambassadors

BEIJING, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has appointed five new ambassadors, according to a statement issued by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) on Tuesday.

Xi made the appointments in line with decisions made by the Standing Committee of the NPC, China's top legislature.

Yang Guangyu has been appointed ambassador to Algeria, replacing Liu Yuhe.

Xiao Ming has been appointed ambassador to Comoros, replacing Wang Leyou.

Cui Zhiwei has been appointed ambassador to Montenegro, replacing Zhi Zhaolin.

Yu Hongyang has been appointed ambassador to Turkey, replacing Gong Xiaosheng.

Wu Dong has been appointed ambassador to Mauritania, replacing Chen Gonglai.
