Chinese envoy to attend meeting for Lebanese forces

BEIJING, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Special Envoy to the Middle East Wu Sike will go to Italy to attend an international meeting to support Lebanese armed forces, a foreign ministry spokeswoman said on Friday.

Spokeswoman Hua Chunying said Wu will leave on Monday for the ministerial-level conference to boost the Lebanese Armed Forces' capabilities.

The envoy will also visit Israel and Palestine to discuss the latest developments in the Palestinian issue with all sides concerned, said the spokeswoman.
