BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi on Tuesday met with Kyrgyz Parliament Speaker Asylbek Zheenbekov on deepening bilateral ties.
Yang said China-Kyrgyzstan substantial cooperation had developed well and a series of major projects have been carried out.
He said as strategic partners, China and Kyrgyzstan need to make joint efforts to build the Silk Road economic belt, which was proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to central Asia last year.
Zheenbekov said the Kyrgyz parliament is glad to see the implementation of bilateral deals and would contribute to the development of bilateral strategic partnership.
The Kyrgyz side firmly supports and cooperates with China's efforts to crack down on the forces of separatism, extremism and terrorism, said Zheenbekov.
Zheenbekov is on a four-day visit from Monday at the invitation of Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature.
