HUE, Vietnam, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese cultural minister Cai Wu attended the 2nd meeting of China-ASEAN Ministers Responsible for Culture and Arts (AMCA+China) and the 6th meeting of cultural ministers of ASEAN and its dialogue partners China, Japan, and South Korea (AMCA+3) in Hue city in central Vietnam on Saturday.
During the 2nd AMCA+China meeting, Cai and ten ASEAN members counterparts exchanged views over the opportunities and challenges that ASEAN and China are facing in cultural cooperation.
They also discussed measures to deepen pragmatic cooperation between ASEAN and China, to successfully hold the 2014 ASEAN-China cultural exchange activities, and to jointly establish the Maritime Silk Road in the 21st century. A wide range of consensus was reached during the meeting.
Participants also discussed and adopted the 2014-2018 Plan of Action on ASEAN-China Cultural Cooperation, which is expected to become a guidance document for relevant parties in cultural dialogue and cooperation.
During the 6th AMCA+3 meeting, an event of "East Asian City of Culture" was held. Participants agreed to further deepen the ASEAN+ 3 cultural cooperation for peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
Cai also met with Pham Binh Minh, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, and Hoang Tuan Anh, Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
