ABOARD HAIXUN 01, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese vessel Haixun 01 has intensified its effort to detect signals emitted from the black box of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 since Friday morning off the Australian western coast.
Haixun 01 arrived Friday at the new search area which is to the north of the 1.15 million square-kilometer patch earlier designated by the Australian side, according to a Xinhua correspondent aboard the Chinese search vessel.

PERTH, April 4 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese IL-76 aircraft took off from Perth International Airport early Friday morning to spearhead in an international joint search in Southern Indian Ocean, as Australian and Malaysian government heads promised to spare no efforts to hunt Malaysia Airlines flight 370.
The four-engined airlifter will comb an area of 5,800 square km which is 2,400 km west to Perth with thunder rains in the search area, sources with China's diplomatic missions to Australia told Xinhua. Full story
China prolongs search for missing flight
BEIJING, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Chief of the China Maritime Search and Rescue Center He Jianzhong said on Thursday that China is still searching for the Malaysia Airlines flight missing now for 27 days.
"Chinese vessels, as a major search force, are continuing the most difficult maritime search in history," He said. Full story
