BEIJING, April 3 (Xinhuanet) --A total of 34 films will compete for the Jury Award of the 21st Beijing College Student Film Festival (BCSFF) to be held in Beijing on April 8, according to the final shortlist released by the BCSFF’s organizing committee on March 27.
The films include "Black Coal, Thin Ice," "No Man Land," "Unbeatable," "Police Story 2013," "So Young," "Beijing Love Story" and the Sino-French co-production "Nightingale" directed by Philippe Muyl. They were selected from more than 200 participating films.
The Jury Awards fall into the following ten categories: Best Film, Grand Jury Prix, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Visual Effect, Best Debut, Best Newcomer and Best Directorial Debut. The jury line-up consists of 30 college students from across the country and ten young film reviewers.
The Students' Choice Award includes Favorite Director, Favorite Actor and Favorite Actress.
During the 33-day festival, there will be other events, including a competition for original films by college students, a hosting contest, film review contest, films on demand and a script contest.
Highlights of the event and films on demand will be available on 56.com, the exclusive video service partner and a leading user generated content (UGC) video-sharing website in China.
The BCSFF, organized by Beijing Normal University and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Radio, Film and Television, is one of the most prestigious film festivals in China. Its slogan is "Youthful Passion, Academic Taste and Cultural Awareness." The film festival aims to find more budding film talents.
