ABOARD JINGGANGSHAN/HAIXUN 01, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Two Chinese vessels are in a new area in the Indian Ocean to search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

The Chinese navy vessel Jinggangshan, which reached the new targeted waters early Saturday and carries two helicopters, is expected to focus on searching for plane surfaces, oil slicks and life jackets in a sea area of some 6,900 square km.Full story

Australian PM says black box locator to be deployed on searching ship

MELBOURNE, March 29 (Xinhua) -- A device for locating the black box will be put onto an Australian navy ship searching for the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott told media on Saturday.

"It will be taken to the most prospective search area and if there is good reason to deploy it, it will be deployed," he told reporters this morning in Sydney, according to local media AAP.Full story

Malaysian airliner search resumes Saturday, suspicious objects to be checked: AMSA

CANBERRA, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Saturday's weather is expected initially to be suitable for the searching of the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, but conditions are likely to deteriorate later in the day, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said in its latest update on Saturday.

AMSA confirmed that five aircraft spotted multiple objects of various colors during Friday's search. However, the objects cannot be verified or discounted as being from MH370 until they are relocated and recovered by ships, said a statement.Full story

11 white rectangular objects spotted west of Perth: New Zealand Air Force

CANBERRA, March 29 (Xinhua) -- A cluster of 11 white rectangular objects is sitting below water surface some 1,600 km west of Perth, Australia, New Zealand Air Force official told media on Saturday.

The objects, one-meter rectangular piece of material, were within five meters away from one another, said New Zealand Air Vice Marshal Kevin Short.Full story
