Chinese state councilor to visit Belgium, Germany, attend China-EU dialogue

BEIJING, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi will visit Belgium and Germany and attend the fourth China-European Union (EU) high-level strategic dialogue later this month, a foreign ministry spokesman said on Tuesday.

Yang will make the visits from Jan. 25 to 28 at the invitation of Belgian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Didier Reynders, EU Vice-President and High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, and the Federal Government of Germany, Spokesman Hong Lei said at a daily news briefing.

Yang and Ashton will co-chair the China-EU strategic dialogue, Hong said.
