BEIJING, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang met separately with vice chairman of the Boeing Company Raymond Conner and former World Bank president Robert Zoelick in Beijing on Monday.

In his meeting with Conner, Wang said China will strive to build a new open economic system while deepening its reform, continue to improve administration on foreign investment, and make efforts to offer a favorable condition for foreign investment featuring openness, transparency and fair play.

The new open economic system, brought up during the third plenum of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China last November, aims to relax investment access and speed up the construction of free trade zones.

In his meeting with Zoelick, Wang expressed his hope that China and the United States would enhance communication and understanding, deepen substantial cooperation, effectively manage differences and push forward the growth of a new type of major-country relationship between both countries.
