BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- The National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) will celebrate its sixth anniversary in Beijing on Sunday with various art performances and activities.
This Sunday, Dec. 22, also notes a designated Public Open Day of the NCPA. The center will distribute free tickets to people through certain channels.
Free tickets will be distributed among people from different industries and communities, including national heroes, model workers, doctors and nurses, subway and bus staff, taxi drivers, students, soldiers and military officers, said NCPA Vice President Wang Zhengming at Tuesday's press conference.
"The NCPA is expected to receive around 15,000 visitors on the day [itself], reaching the maximum capacity for a single day", Wang said.
The NCPA-made opera films will make for one of this year's highlights, said Li Zhixiang, assistant to the center's president.
"Three classic operas including 'Nabucco,' 'Un Ballo in Maschera' and 'Turandot' were transformed into opera films and audiences can enjoy the first two on this day," he said.
A total of 19 stage shows, 11 art lectures, six exhibitions and 50 public performances will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
