BEIJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- China's electricity consumption, an indicator of economic activity, rose 8.5 percent year on year in November, official data showed on Saturday.
The growth was lower than October's 9.5-percent rise and September's 10.4-percent increase, according to figures released by the National Energy Administration.
Total power consumption by the end of November rose 7.5 percent year on year to 4.83 trillion kilowatt hours, accelerating from the 7.4-percent increase recorded in the first 10 months of 2013, the administration said.
China to maintain consistent economic policies in 2014

China's economy to grow 7.5%
BEIJING, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's economy is expected to expand 7.6 percent in 2013 and then edge down to around 7.5 percent in 2014, the State Information Center (SIC), a government think tank, has forecast.
The SIC advised the central government to set the economic growth target for 2014 at 7 percent in an effort to focus more effort on reform and adjusting the economic structure. Full story
