China, U.S. to meet on business, trade

BEIJING, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- China and the United States will hold their annual meeting to discuss business ties and trade issues next week, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said Friday.

Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and Trade Representative Michael Froman will co-chair the meeting, Hong told a regular briefing.

The 24th Session of China-U.S. Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (JCCT) was slated for Dec. 19-20 in Beijing.

The JCCT was launched in 1983 as a platform for the two countries to promote trade and address issues of mutual concern.

BEIJING, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said on Friday that it will stop anti-dumping and countervailing duties on sedans and sport utility vehicles with engines of 2.5 liters and above imported from the United States.

The MOC said in a statement on its website that the decision will be in effect starting Dec. 15. The MOC had not received any applications for further investigations in the 60 days before the expiration date of the current measures. Full story
