BEIJING, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Liu Yunshan, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met with a Mexican delegation of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) on Tuesday, pledging to boost cooperation between the two political parties and the two countries.
The delegation was headed by Cesar Camacho Quiroz, president of the PRI.
Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said Mexico is a good friend and partner of China in Latin America and the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership has led the China-Mexico friendship into a new phase.
In June, Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Mexico, where he and his Mexican counterpart Enrique Pena Nieto announced that bilateral relationship would be upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
During Tuesday's meeting, Liu said the Chinese side stands ready to work with Mexico to implement the important consensus reached by the two leaders in pursuit of more cooperative achievements in various fields.
The CPC is facing similar tasks of development to those of the PRI, and is willing to increase exchanges of experience on party management and country governance with the Mexican party, and promote bilateral ties by deepening the inter-party relationship to benefit the people of the two countries, according to Liu.
Quiroz praised the unprecedented quality of the Mexico-China relationship, which he said was thanks to close interactions between the presidents of the two countries.
He added that the PRI admires the CPC's capability and achievements in ruling the country, and looks forward to more exchanges with the CPC to lay a sound political foundation for the bilateral relationship and boost practical cooperation with China in various fields.
