ALMATY, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping concluded his three-day state visit to Kazakhstan on Sunday and left for Uzbekistan to continue his ongoing four-nation Central Asia tour.
During his stay here, Xi met with his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev and they agreed to deepen the two countries' existing comprehensive strategic partnership.
During their talks, the two leaders reviewed the development of China-Kazakhstan relations, planned for future cooperation and reached broad consensus on furthering their comprehensive strategic partnership.
Both leaders agreed that China-Kazakhstan energy cooperation is complementary and mutually beneficial, and each country treats the other as a long standing, stable and reliable energy cooperation partner.
Xi also expounded China's overall policy toward Central Asia in a speech at Nazarbayev University, an elite university of Kazakhstan.
The Chinese president arrived in Astana on Friday after attending the eighth Leaders' Summit of the Group of Twenty in the Russian city of St. Petersburg.
He will also visit Kyrgyzstan and take part in the 13th meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Bishkek.
Xi's speech on China-Central Asia ties catches global attention

Chinese president discusses bilateral ties with Kazakh parliament speaker
